The Best Speakeasies & Hidden Bars in Las Vegas Right Now

The Laundry Room has been doing the secret-bar concept since long before every casino decided it needed a door hidden behind a bookshelf, operating out of what was literally the El Cortez hotel’s laundry room in a building that predates Commonwealth’s 2012 opening. A sweeping 2026 renovation brought in head mixologist Davey Francis and a new three-chapter cocktail menu called Fear and Laundry, along with a crystal chandelier and two hundred original artworks, changes that have divided some longtime regulars who miss the rougher old-school atmosphere. Entry still requires a phone reservation or the right conversation with a ground-floor bartender, with no visible sign or door to give it away. It remains one of downtown’s gold standards regardless of which era of decor you prefer.
